Had a quick run down the Solent this morning from ocean quay in Southampton, stunning conditions - only seen the Solent this flat a handful of times in my life. popped her up to 55 knots

Nice

I did a very similar trip this afternoon except 1) the wind hand picked up so it was nothing like that flat & 2) I was about 20 knots down on you

Sure was a bit chilly! First year with the boat so have invested in base layer & full Musto suit which did their job, but need to invest in some decent gloves next

Tied up in Yarmouth and had a bacon butty and a brew - sat in the sun it wasn't toooo cold. Unfortunately I think this is our last weekend, boat probably going into winter storage next week

Sealskinz do some good waterproof gloves - I have a pair of ultra grip gloves which work well for me.

I've not ventured in to Yarmouth yet, but it's on the list of place to explore. Shame about the winter storage; I'm hoping for loads of cold/crisp/sunny/calm winter days to enjoy. Come of British weather, I know I can rely on you....!
