Grand Prix of the Sea

Afternoon all,

Although this is not an area of the forum that I often frequent, in my capacity as foreign affairs liaison officer (), I have been contacted by a member of my Association regarding a race.....

Team Derksen runs three Osprey Lynx 28s. Their website can be found here, and it is the co-driver of this outfit who has contacted me in relation to this.....

Dear Oliver,

The organisation of GrandPrix of the Sea in Den Helder NL is very busy. Next month they will start with team presentation on Dutch TV. The races in August will be broadcast on Dutch and several European TV programmes. Of course I would like to show as many ribs as possible!

As I wrote you before we would like to have a big International RIB battle. We don’t have rib teams from the UK yet! Is it possible to write an enthusiastic call on your website about that?

For more information the teams can mail me or info@grandprixofthesea.nl.
The closing date will be soon…

Thank you very much!

Greetings!
Regine Derksen
Essentially there is a massive (CTC-stylee I think?) race going to be happening in t'Netherlands on the 5,6,7 August this summer. Official website here Anyone interested in competing can contact me and I will furnish them with competitor entry forms etc (the file type of which don't seem to want to post up on here) and put them in touch with the organisers.

Many thanks,

Oliver - gps@osprey-owners.co.uk

Dutch RIB teams challenge foreign teams!

Behalf on all Dutch RIB raceteams we herewith challenge other RIB teams to compete with us during The Grand Prix of The Sea in the Netherlands.

According the UIM calandar the GPS NL will be held August 5-7 in Den Helder.

Besides the F2, Evolution and Supersport classes, RIBs will race at this Powerboat event.
A great opportunity to visit a F2 event, get a place in the pit boxes and look behind and be a part of the International Boat Scene!!

Several Dutch Rib Teams have already subscribed for this event and it would be great if some (UK) Rib owners would be part of this big event.

If you are a rib racer and would like to come a few days to Holland, please see our websites and be prepared for some action!!!

More information/preregistration: www.grandprixofthesea.nl
Or contact our team: Team Derksen Infra: www.derksenwatersport.nl
mail to: rderksen@gjderkseninfra.nl

Just to add I was in Den Helder tail end of last year.... An easy flight & direct train from Amsterdam if anyone wanted to go.

A very nice place -but I spent my time occupied in other things than boating when I was there ........
