GRP Cutting

Hi all,

I shall soon be adding a fixed VHF Radio to my boat and would like some advice.

I have already drilled a few holes in my boat for bolts etc, but now I'm going to have to cut out a large rectangular hole to fit the Icom 401 I intend to purchase soon.

I intend to mark out the rectangle for cutting. Then drill a large hole in each corner, able to take a jigsaw blade, then join them up with the jigsaw.

My question is from those that have done it is ?

a) What is the best type of jigsaw blade to use ? Might I consider a tile cutting blade ?

b) What are the preferred drill bit types.

Any help especially with regards the Jig saw blade would be most appreciated.
