GRP Rib Repair
Hello all, Im new to the site so go easy on me! Had boats for the past 12 years but really fancied a RIB so have just bought my first one, a 7 metre humber needing a bit of love as a winter project. The hull has been damaged where it was lifted (with chains by the seller) onto the lorry transporting it down to me. The damage is on one part on the hull where the tubes are stuck to the hull and the repair needed is beyond me fibre glassing limits! The boat is currently in my back garden and not on a trailer so I dont really want to move it until its all finished, so my question is....finally!....does anyone know of any mobile GRP repair companies or people in the Portsmouth / Chichester / Southampton area who could come to me to do the repair rather than me having to get it to them?

If Stu doesn't come up with a good guy then Gary at Spartun will certainly be able to do it. He is in the process of moving so best to phone him I think. Always very helpful and several of us on here have used him before.
Next Monday night is Churchillian night btw if you would like to meet up with the locals.

Hiya, I am based in Kent but often work in Portsmouth so if you are stuck let me know - I would be quite happy to have a look the next time I am over your way.

Thanks Malthouse, I'll bear that in mind. Im going to get the tubes off first before doing anything & that'll also help me get a better look at the damage.

If you work in Fareham then Gary at Spartun has got to be the best option. Trail it round to his place in Newgate Lane and he's got a big unit there to do the work in more controlled conditions.
