Harbour master – Doh Moment.
I went out for a blat round on my bike this morning and ended up parked down at Eastney for a Coffee from the van by the RNLI station whilst I watched the boats go up and down the channel into Langstone harbour.
Whilst I was there the Harbour master RIB from the Hayling side rocked up driven by somebody important looking and a young lady jumped out to get rolls from the van, the Rib bow was nudged up onto the shingle.
The young lady returned to the RIB, jumped in the Bow and the driver tried to reverse off the shingle.
It wasn’t going anywhere, which is when the fun started, and I wished after I’d recorded it.
So, she jumped over the Bow and gave the RIB a push, which moved it about a foot backwards, then jumped back in.
The RIB was stuck again, so out she jumped again and gave another much easier shove.
Back in again and it was stuck again.
She jumped out again, and realised it was floating, they both looked a bit puzzled at this stage.
It wasn’t until she’d jumped back in the bow a third time and the RIB was stuck again that the important looking bloke realised that all he’d needed to do was get her to move towards the stern and the bow floated off the shingle.
It was so obvious all along looking on from my vantage point – Oh how I chuckled.
Nasher.
