Has anyone used "Lifters"

Hi all,

I came across this product on eBay called "Lifters". They also have a US website at:

http://www.maximarine.com/products/lifters/index.html

They are supposed to be attached to the transom of an inflatable boat and improve planing speed and time to plane. Has anyone ever used them and are they worth the money ?

Is there something similar for sale in the UK ?

Thanks,

Mark.

Quicksilver do a similar product. Thay are called smart tabs. There is a gas strut with nitrgen in which holds the tab down during aceleraton. Apparently the lift is adjustable at time of fitting, but I guess you could change settings if you wanted.

A friend used one on a 14' Zodiac and liked it (remember, though, he PAID for it). I bought one from Cabela's for my 16' Zodiac, but the fit was so poor I returned it without ever trying it. I have never seen any other inflatables (30 or 40 ) running one, so I question their worth. Does that help, or just confuse you?
