Hayling Island on Saturday.

Hi all.

Anyone going to be down at the Ferry Inn Slip on Hayling Island in the morning?

I always used to launch my 4M Flatacraft by myself but haven’t attempted it with the 6.25M Ocean yet. Getting it in will be OK but getting it out may be fun.

I’m going out with my kids in the boat, but this time my wife isn’t coming, so won’t be there to help launch and recover. My lads are only 7 and 5, and as nice as they are can sometimes be more of a hindrance than a help. I’m going to have leave them holding the Painter whilst I go and park the car and Trailer. Used to drag the Flatacraft up the beach for 10 mins but I’m not going manage that with the Ocean.

Perhaps if anyone is around they could offer a hand if I appear to be struggling.
You will recognise us by the Bright Yellow boat that is now Mechanically sound but still needs work to tidy it up cosmetically. Oh and the oil company executives following me around doing market research on how one small boat can boost their profits by so much!

Nasher.

Thanks Olly

however a mate with another boat has decided to come as well now so I'll be OK.

Very kind of you to offer, we'll be launching now about 11 or 12 and will be having a picnic on the sandbank just inside the harbour.

Its a bit of a game that loads of people do, the sandbank 'goes under' about 2 hours either side of high tide, so you build a sandcastle as big as you can and see who's is the last above water.

Might even try and launch from Northerny marina and run down through the harbour to avoid the crowds at the Ferry inn.

Why don't you join us with the searider?

Never realised "ribbing" could be so exciting!

Dirk

You don't know the half of it.

I get my excitement by seeing how long I can go without inflating my tubes. Unfortunately my A5 notebook is still in the UK so I can’t tell you how long my record is.

Cheers

Mark
