Heavy or light ??

What would be the best rib in a sea swell a heavy or light rib.

Is there any advantage in having a light boat.?

All depends on what the hulls like, Atlantic 75's have ballast for a reason though, makes hell of a difference running into the weather.
Some one on here has built a carbon fibre RIB, its lighter so needs less HP so is cheaper to run.

I have just been reading an posting on the lighter the boat the better fuel you get.

I am interested in seeing apart from used fuel what are the advantages or disadvantages are.

Providing the construction is OK weight isn't as important as hull design for sea keeping.
