Hello from new cornish member

Hello,
New here, came via a land rover forum. Thought I'd just see what's going on. I don't own a RIB, but often drive them for other people, I find it chaeper that way! Were any of you guys in Calshot / solent on the 12th ish of march. I was safety boating for the BUSA windsurfing championships and saw a lot of RIBs passing...?

Cheers,
Keef.

We dive down there, not last easter but the place is distinctive even in that photo ... what else do you do there! Unless you try lunching your boat which could be fatal for the boat and landy

Love the landy - just be prepared for all the people here who will tell you that they are crap - fall apart - break down all the time - no good offroad etc etc!!!

Anyway where did you get that bumper? And is there a winch lurking behind it???

Hi Keef,
Didn't think I'd seen it but believe it or not remember trying to read the sticker on the side!! ( didn't see the spot lights, bumper, fog lights, amber beacon, canopy etc.etc )
I launch from Par docks ( pic attached) you need to be a boat club member but apart from that good launch site & great security.

Not very often Eddo, but there was a time last year following an incident with a Rib, Land Rover & Lampost that it was a bit neglected

Numberplate... got away with it for the past 1000 miles will go on the mill services bumper soon once I've fitted the new winch. 9000lb superwinch running plasma rope so it doesn't cut kiddies in half. Sticker says http://www.solution-uk.com/ , they make lots of cleaning products and sponsored me for a challenge event.

Porthkerris is not a vehicle friendly beach. The tractor down there even shed a wheel over the Easter weekend whilst recovering a rib, which lead to some excitement.

Not spent much time in Par, mostly head out of Goran Haven or Fowey. Or if I'm teaching, from Empress dock or way up the Itchen River in Southampton.

Yes, Ideal for ribs, steep slip which enables me to launch/recover without getting trailer brakes wet. Even in a gale it offers good protection from crosswinds.
The docks are at Par ( just west of Fowey) and are owned by Imerys (french company bought out English China clay ) They did want to boot the public out but didn't want the bad press so made us form the boat club, publish rules and regs get insurance etc. Anyone can join the club but only on full payment for 12 months which is £80, launching +parking then unlimited.there is a web site http://www.sabbc.org.uk/ if anyones interested but pm me if you'd like more details. I'd tell you all about the great campsite 1 mile away but I'd get pinged as a commercial posting!!
