Hello winter!

Out here on the Solway Firth. minus 2 and car frozen this morning. Dense fog and ***** cold as we got out to sea, but now the sun has burned through and its glorious. Hello winter, whatever happened to summer and all those things I was going to get round to doing this year?

Sure am. Having built up a business here, I thought I'd ditch it, move to the other side of the world and start all over again! Bloody stupid thing to do really!

Come on, It's not time to quit yet just coz its bit chilly. We did a 40 mile nightime passage on wednesday evening, leaving in the dark from Herne Bay at 7pm. I'm taking my Ribtec to Oz with me and it goes into the container monday so there musn't be any fuel in it...... as I explained to the missus. I also needed to brush up on my night nav as I'm doing my advanced powerboat course/exam next week.

6 degrees, pitch black with no moon or stars. No plotter, just a route plotted by me, a known fool.Still, survived with no dramas and learned lots (like how unnnaturally quick the tide drops at Queenborough meaning we had to partially carry it back to the water - doh!)

Love nightime passages, looking forward to it being dark AND warm!

Sorry but!!!
Sea temp is still 78F and ave. day time is about 80F. Cooling to about 65F at night , so windows open, AC off, for good sleeping. Need another large G and T.
Purchased 7 kilo of huge meaty beef ribs today for T/giving. Also 5 kilo of baby pork ribs, and pork sausage. Cost about 100 bucks US. They will all be going in the smoker at midnight before, along with a kilo of jumbo shrimp(not at midnight) Anyone is invited for dinner but BYOB.
We don't need no stinking turkey
Cheers to all, and yes, I will get my coat.
