Help For Classic Boat Museum

Hi All
bit of a plug here for the Classic Boat Museum on the Isle of Wight who need to raise their Profile . They are trying to raise funds to open a heritage centre in East Cowes, inthe old Union Jack Hanger the one you see as you enter the River Medina .They have a collection of Chris Craft , Rivas, steam boats and sailing dinghys as well as having restored two of the earliest Lifeboats that served the Island any one fancy joining the Museum as a friend can at a cost of £10 details on their website www.classicboatmuseum.org they do a great job of restoring boats power or sail, and keeping the skills of boatbuilding alive and all by volunteers and donations.
cheers Tim

Yes most of it is there are 3 options on the table at the moment , but the hangar is staying put, as such a big part of the local history. The redevelopment is mostly to do with the ferry terminal and a new marina .The new name is Venture Quays and Ellen Mc arthur is already there with B and Q
and the rest of her team .Its a couple of years down the road for the classic boat museum to move there but the Archive material will be there by April 2005 .It will be a mini Greenwich Maritime Museum we hope.
