Help Installing Bimini Top on RIB

Hi, hoping someone out there can help. I purchased a 2007 Novurania 335 DL recently that came with an unattached Bimini top. For the life of me I can't figure out how it attaches.

There are 2 "pads" (not sure what they are called) on each tube and the pads have screw holes that the Bimini top line up to, however, the screws don't really screw into anything and come right out.

Here are two pics. Does anyone know how this is supposed to work. Surely the Bimini top shouldn't be coming out like this. Maybe a piece is missing?

Any help would be great. Thanks!
