Help! Repairs Advice

Please can anyone help with advice/quotes/estimates for repairs?

I am looking to buy a 15ft Delta / Chinook which needs some life breathing into it;

1) The transom needs replacing, its split, leaks, and the waterproofing is gone in places leading to wood rot
2) A valve retired itself. The valve is located over/near a seam near the bow.

Also regards these repairs is it possible to do a DIY job (I am an
accomplished mechanic) and if so is there information available to help me

Matt

Hi Matt

For the value/tube issues try Euromarine at Preston.

As for the transon i would refer back to the manufacturer, however if the transon has gone and the core us rotten is it worth buying ?.

I know that some people say once the transom has gone its often not worth repairing unless the rest of the boat is A1.

Talk to Delta i would suggest first but I dont think the trasson is a DIY job.

Regards Gary
