Help with Suspension Seats for my bad back !
Hi, I need to find a pair of suspension seats. I suffer from chronic pain in my spine following surgery many years ago. I encouraged (polite) hubby to by the rib but it is causing me so much pain from the rough waves that I am starting to get very wary of going out on it ! Please help If you know of any companies or individuals that may be able to help I would be very grateful
Thanks Sarah

Sarah, I saw the Scotseat at Ribex and they look very nice however IMO standing up and using your legs to absorb the shocks in rougher conditions really is the ulitmate in shock absorbtion. At £5k for a pair of shock absorbing seats my legs are going to be doing a lot more work

Sarahscottiedog - bad, wicked and all as you may be, you deserve a set of ScotSeats.
I've checked them out (on the Redbay 1050) and despite what that tightwad Chris says, they're vastly superior to jockey seats (I have lower back and compressed disc issues ). I have a price list from ScotSeats if you want a copy (PM me)

Not just yet, I have to finish paying for the willkraft first
However, in my constant Quest for Knowledge (currently in it's infancy) I take every opportunity to check these things out. Empirical Test results at 50kts support the ScotSeats as well as they supported me. Next time I'm in Gigha - hopefully next month (4 island tour planned, wx premitting) I'll take a run with GighaSeatours (on here) and scope out the Ullmans and Skydex flooring. Anyone interested in shock mitigation should make a cuppa and read Don's website. Oddly, Don was "off Island" on my last visit, must have been a fluke

I was out on the Redbay 1050 with the Scotseats fitted for most of the publicity pictures and have to say that personally I found them to be more comfortable that Ullmans. I think the slight sideways movement made a massive difference and although I have various issues with my back (used to be a crap road bike rider) I had no problems after the run. I did however have serious issues with my super douper mustos that were as waterproof as a paper bag!!

Try an XM Offshore or Ocean suit, super dry whatever the weather

Scotseats
Scotseats for me. I had a good look over them at Ribex and liked what I saw. I mentioned that on one of their seats I would have liked slightly more obvious lumbar support and they said that would not be a problem, they would model the foam to my requirements. So not only a good standard product, but they will 'tweak' it to suit you. Gets my vote
And still cheaper than Ullmans.
