Hi have no idea how may hours my OBM has done but its alot.
its 21 years old now and I have had it since new.
Now worries about taking it out at all.

I don't know if 983 hours falls in that bracket, but my 2002 evinrude has still got plenty go in her, I've been told she'll need a rebore at 3000, dunno how much that is though.

Had Yams and Honda's in with 3500+ hours but in fairness these are the 2 major brands used by the fisheries and fishermen where we are. I am also not saying that other engines would also not be ok at those hours, just that we have not seen them.

There is likely going to be a 1952 vintage Seagull out there shoving a canal barge along with 10000000 hours on the clock.

And the owner would never be the wiser as to whether it needed a rebore or not!
