Home built rib, stitch & glue
3 years ago i built a stitch and glue 6m rib-90hp 4 stroke, we have been using it to dive off ever since.
I am just about to build a new one over the winter, based on the same design but using 'd' section tubes to give a wider internal beam.
I am going to strip the boat, engine, a frame etc ,leaving a floating hull.being home built this has no ce markings, will i be able to sell this rib ?

Technically you cannot sell a homebuilt boat until 5 years after it was completed.

I believe there may be a little trick to start the 5yr count down before final completion. If the hull is seaworthy and can be used as a proper boat, a launching can be done to start the time from when the boat is considered fit for the water. Not much use for your present boat but might be worth considering for the new build. Get the hull completed, fit an outboard and take it for a spin.

Home built rib, stitch & glue
Yes Chewy, the drawings and tubes did come from Gemini Industries, I did make some modifications to them to suit my project and it worked out ok, Although I would not buy another set of his tubes again. I know his tubes have been topic of conversation before as well as poorley built plywood boats. I surpose it depends who builds them.
This is not a Rolls Royce rib but has served us well and was cheap to build.

The very left of the photo, looks like someone's photoshopped a bit of tube on the end with a wider strake.

JSP - seems like you are basically doing a SR rebuild anyway - with a set of plans the tricky bit is not the "hard engineering" but the finishing/detail work - which you will be doing anyway.

I wouldn't trust my own work enough to build a hull. It would have to be a huge meccano set and then I'd want it checked out by the pro's.

I agree, gluing and screwing lumps of wood together is the easy bit, making it look pretty takes a bit more effort,
