Home made SR4 wind sheld

Just had to share as I am really chuffed how my windshield is turning out, the main aim was to keep as much sea spray off the radio/GPS etc, which are weather proof but it all helps I suppose,
Still needs painting/ fixing and blue flim taking off,
Oh and the ipad will be going in a aquapac before the comments start... Lol

you may want to look at the cases from audio nation, i have been using one on my boat and motorbike for about a year all weathers on the motorbike everyday.
No issues with use, or waterproofing.

I don't mean to knock your windshield it does look good but for a safety aspect if you ended up taking a knock on one of the corners of those metal uprights it could do a lot of damage.

Firefly's is a much better and safer option moulded plastic with edging strip.

Just a thought because it does hurt even with all plastic.

Don't ask how I know

Was it a fish tank in a former life? If so, have you thought of fitting the little sunken galleon?

Yep fair one! I will have a look to see what edging strip I can find, I was after one like firefly but could not find anything so had to cut up a old fish tank😄

Lovey cases but a hefty price tag!

If you want one made all you need to do is get some thick wire eg. coat hanger stuff then mould the wire around your console then draw the shape on a large piece of paper and add the height you want it to be then post it off to nugent and "Walla"

He's a great guy to deal with and is very familiar with most rib consoles

Look on Ebay, under "automotive edging strip". Plenty to choose from.
