Honeycomb matting

Hello all

Does anyone know of a local to Portsmouth source of honeycomb rubber matting. I want to line my outside lav, sorry consol, with it. The stuff with ‘holes’ about an inch across is favourite.

Its useful as it stops your gear sliding about and any small amounts of water sit inside the holes and don’t get everything too wet.

B&Q sell cheap doormats made the same way, but they are too small, in the past I’ve seen complete decks ‘carpeted with the stuff so it must be available on the roll.

Cheers

Nasher.

Have you tried www.rswww.com ?

Look under Health & Safety > Floor matting.

We use that sort of thing here for the operators to stand on.

All depends on the pattern you want !!

Your right about the normal application, its normaly used in front of work benches etc to keep feet off the cold hard floor all day. If I find a source I'll be putting some down in front of my bench and Lathe in the Garage too.

Don't you need an account with RS? which I understand is hard to come by.

Funnily enough I use a couple of those in the console!

(P.S. RS will give anyone an account - they gave me one!)

Try your local builders centre, its the stuff they use when they want to make a gravel drive they lay it down pour gravel on it and the honeycombe stops the gravel from waving up (moving). only probleam is i think it comes in 10 or 15 sq mts packs.you can some times get small samples from the maker for very little. Worth a go
