honwave t35v ae3 damage ?

Morning fellow ribbers,

i bought a honwave t35 ae3 through seaamarknunn in October and the front D ring where you pick up the rib from has split and come away.
I have only used this rib 2 times both at brixham yacht club slipway and cannot believe its split.
Has anybody else had the same problem with there honwave.
I have reported this to seamarknunn and they tell me Honda have not experienced this problem before.
Im in the process of possible sending it to Honda under warranty if they give the ok for a repair meaning i will miss the summer i guess and just hope it doesnt happen again.
The slipway at brixham yacht club is a very gentle slope at all states of the tide so no excessive pulling or pushing was needed, i thought these honwaves were pretty tough, but i have too say ive lost a bit of confidence in it now.
I dont know where i stand for a replacement or refund, i think if ive owned it more than 6 months its a repair job.
Be interesting to know if anybody else has had the same problem with there rib.

Hi, has the metal ring split where the welded join is, or has the backing patch split away from the tube? Any pictures?
Either way it will be a very simple repair and you shouldn't miss the summer whilst it's being repaired.

Not the same problem (T38 wonky floor) but Honda a total pain to deal with. Honda expected boat left at the dealers until their rep could inspect it…no date given and dealer advised it can take them weeks/months to show up. In the end after much hassle agreed to assess claim by copious photo evidence/dealer opinion and to carry on using boat in the meantime. Once claim registered then warranty clock stops. Took them over 6 months to even agree a replacement.

Assuming yours will eventually be a warranty item, more likely an approved repair than full replacement, so would advise standing your ground and seek agreement to use boat in the meantime.

Good luck and get some use out of it over the summer.

This (for you) has absolutely NOTHING to do with Honda. Your contract is purely with the retailer if it’s within a year old. If the goods are not of acceptable quality the RETAILER must offer an acceptable solution. Ask nicely, in writing for a solution within an acceptable time or threaten nicely XYZ.

It’s a £10 patch and 15 mins work for them.

I agree with Max, it is down to the retailer to sort it out within the first 12 months

ID:	140894I used to tow mine all over with a tow dolly for years and the front ring held although the rubber parted it was backed by webbing so always held. I'd be reluctant to give up a summers use unless it looked terminal.
