Hot weather

Given the forecasted temperatures today, if you've got a RIB or SIB, as a main boat or as a Tender, it might be worth considering letting a little air out of the tubes. The hassle factor of pumping them back up is nothing compared to the hassle/cost of retubing !🚤🌞

Also - beware the high UV, which will bleach colours!

Stay cool !

I went and checked mine yesterday, and let a little more out, just to be on the safe side.

Good reminder...have now let a little air out and my sponsons were indeed quite firm even though it was in the shade.

RIBase
Ours has PRVs but just to be on the safe side I just went out and checked the tubes and let some air out of each section....like the man said its easier to put a few pumps worth back in later than get tube(s) repaired....
Having said that, its easy for me because the rib is only a couple of feet away from the bathing platform of the boat we live on. Not so simple if you are a long way from your boat. Keep cool guys.

Heres an interesting thought ....

i have a black tubed r/c 5.3 .......no overpressure valves and no bung however it was said to me by the original owner hypalon is thick as R/C do

So if its a safety boat and hangs awaiting action its sort of forgotten till needed ,.......so if high pressure valves popped off a few days ago ,and now an emergency on a much cooler day has occurred "do we have time to pump the tubes before evacuation " or maybe we forget to put the bung in to double the trouble .
Thats why i think my boat has no o/p valves or bung , or maybe i am overthinking it !
