St Peter Port does get busy, but the Marina staff are extremely well organised and they do their utmost to accommodate everyone.
St Peter Port has an outer and an inner harbour. Access to the inner harbour is tide dependent. It may be better for you not to go right into the inner harbour, and stay on a pontoon attached to the land in the outer harbour. I have seen a cabin RIB do this. This way, you can whip over to Herm, Sark etc without worrying whether you can get out over the cill of the inner harbour.
If you wanted to be a little more adventurous, stick your nose in
here. Its much quieter than St Peter Port, but there are no hotels. Great place to chill out if the whether is fine.
