How do you park your RIB ?

I appreciate that as soon as I land on a beautiful beach in remote Scotland..I enjoy a nice nip to clean away the salt from my mouth...especially if it’s been a hard crossing..but always park my boat first.

But when I landed on this lovely sandy beach..not too far from Ullapool ..I wondered if I was imagining things ... by having too many mouth washes on my island hopping adventure..

... or if the driver of this RIB had over done the liquid refreshments... his prop looks like it needs a bit of refreshment too ?

Now you may wonder why I wondered if the skipper of this boat had too much sun when he parked his vessel ?

.. so.. here is another photo ..taken a little further away ..

And another..from even further away ...

And the RIB parking bay is just to the right of my boat on the lovely sandy beach.

Perhaps I missed the point of this parking space..and it is to let the boat dry out better . It gets a bit of swell here ..so re launch could have a bit of a bang too ?

The boat was tied off at both ends and there was a tent on the area just above the boat..so it hadn't broken moorings and been washed ashore .

Of course..it may all be my imagination.. as I do admit to having a wee nip myself.

I was thinking more.. if the skipper was tough as old boots Beerbelly

The tent was flapping open.. but no one looked out to see what I was up to.

They might have had a nip to many ?

I didn’t like going too close in case the skipper was in a hurry to get another kind of nip from a willing local and was busy in the tent ...with his tough old boots off ... so didn’t care how the boat was parked.

I do recall a former member on this forum.. who hated H20 .. (I think he might have been banned for his outspoken remarks ?) He mentioned he came from the Ullapool area and had an old searider..

I confess.. I wondered if he was the owner .. but perhaps .. my bad ... for thinking that but there was no kill cord in sight

RIBase
Breaks your heart to see a RIB tied up like that Gurnard, but I suspect if the skipper is daft enough to anchor over rocks, then what can you do?

There are a couple of Avon Seariders in Ullapool itself. Last time I saw them in Easter - they were as rough as a badger.

I'll bet it's absolutely fine, though I can't say I'd do something similar myself...

I wonder if they moored In the evening and just missed the rocks?

I've seen yachts parked like though and well, that really is daft!
