So what's changed on your boat that makes it a wet ride now?

As i have already explained it was ONLY because my mate asked me to slow down - if you watch the rest of the video I ignored him and speeded up a bit. That is the only time waves have ever come over!!!

This reminds me of RIBEX 2009 - Friday F7 gusting 8 - only me from Cowes to Christchuch in 2 hours- its the shortness & steepness of the sea in strong westerly over tide that gets the solent really going - slighlty scary at times , but loved it ( once I was in the harbour ! )

Some good other vids there guys, thanks for posting.

Must have been rough for that Aircdraft carrier.. It's managed to get it's tubes ripped right off!

I use the Pentax Optio W60 out on the water, it's a great little camera and does decent video footage.

Interesting that your rib seems to just plough straight "through" the waves codprawn

And Tony... That's gotta be a computer simulation of your rib ride, rather than real footage

Good idea about mounting the cam to the A frame... I might try that next time.

And Neil... Yep... I'll ALWAYS be wearing my kill cord, and lifie!! - Looking forward to taking both rides out so that we can get some side by side video footage.

No apologies required. Everyone agrees that conditions look calmer on video and this still looks wild.

Poo?

I nearly cr@pped myself just watching it....

Yes the only reason I felt safe was having another boat out there and being fully drysuited up. This was in my old Osprey 5.2, as yet I have not had the chance to take out the 6.5 in anything like this however I am really itching to

Anyone want to come along as crew?

The other boat is Matts second to last 5.4 Searider.

With hindsight the 5.3 Osprey was a little arse heavy with a 115 on the back and carrying an aux on the transom and 25 litres of fuel in the back did not help either.

Heres another filmed at Teignmouth not quite as rough so was able to go faster.

It has to be said, those seariders rock in the rough stuff for their size. We had a new 5.4 with a 90 opti on before we traded up and they are just so chuckable. Wish we had kept it in all honesty for fun days out rather than cruising. Though it is amazing what going from 5.4 to 6.3 does make!!
