Hull Guarantee

Did a search on this subject but couldn't find an appropriate thread. Having read Ben’s problems with his Viking and all the comments it seems as if there is a large variation on what is on offer as far as Hull Guarantees go. As we have a large variety of manufactures in our midst as members it would be interesting to get some feed back on what was offered when they purchased their boat and what you should expect as a minimum.

I must say it was not one of the questions at the front of my mind when I bought my first RIB earlier in the year………….best go and check

Without being expert on the subject I think that as it applies to all other goods your consumer rights should be protected by law whatever the gurantee is or not.
What I mean is that I believe that you have minimum one year guarantee on a purchase (provided is a new purchase) whatever the guarantee is from the supplier.
Also what you purchase should be fit for the purpose it was purposed for. So if you get a RIB and the hull leaks or the tubes deflate and has no guarantee from the suppliers they should replace it regardless.
Thai is what I think any way.
Any lawyers in the forum???

Manos,

None so far. I think that Ribing is incompatible with law practicing anyway.
