Hull - Slipways etc

Hi

Anyone launched at Hull.

There looks to be a slipway under the Humber Bridge, any good?

Also a few question if your from hull-

Why did they build that big bridge? it doesnt seem to link to another major route and its not far to go round?

Why did they build loads of bridges over the river hull and then shut them all?

Jono (Confused about hull) Garton

The bridge to nowhere is still prefrable to staying in Hull. If i lived there I would want as many ways of getting away from the place as possible.

I can only think that shutting the other bridges, the council averted a major exodus.

Jono,

Slipway below the bridge is run by Humber rescue. They ask for a donation to use it. If I remember rightly £5 for a tractor launch.

It's a concreate slip onto a shingle beach and the tractor is definately worth it especially at low tide.

I went out on a Sunday and the boat house was manned all day if your looking at going during the week I would give them a ring or drop them a mail to check access.

They were really good, nice easy launch and once they'd noticed I was ready to recover they were straight out to pick up. The tide runs a reasonable race and at the time was perpendicular to the wind which made it interesting but I'm sure you'll have no problems.

Cheers

Mike

Hi

Can't think why any one would want to launch in Hull. Think it would bring on depression if I spent to long there.
