Hull Tornado 5.6 VS Ribcraft

Hi,

I 'm planning to buy me a Tornado 5.4 or 5.6, Does anyone have exceprience with this boat?

Specially the hull, I'm wondering what the difference is between the hull of the 5.4 or 5.6 Tornado and the 5.3 Ribcraft, because when you take a look at some photos the designed hull of the tornado is so strange,

Has anyone some excperience with this type of boat , or possitive or negative recommendings?

Hi,

I have no experience of the Tornado, but used to own a 5.45 Ribcraft (yes they did used to make one this size) and found that this is was an EXCELENT sea boat and we easliy did a trip to Alderney from Southamton. Guess this may not help with the difference between the two just that I know the Ribcraft to be excellent true sea boat. Can't who ever you are thinking of buying the Tornado from give you the low down on its hull design ?

I'm currently using a 5.3 Tornado and have been quite surprised by its sea keeping abilities for what is the shortest boat I've really used in anger. It has quite an agressive spray rail set up, which I assume allows it to tackle quite lumpy water for its size

I agree with BigMuzz, i have a Tornado 5.3m and i am astonished at it's sea keeping ability.
I have driven all sorts of boats from canoes to car ferries, and can say with conviction that for the hull length, the Tornado is a fabulous boat.
It thinks it's bigger than 5.3m!

Dont know too much about the Tornado's,BUT I also cant praise the Ribcraft 545 enough! I've had one for a couple of years now and IMHO there is not a better sub 5.5m made! The big boat feel is amazeing, and when ever I have tried other RIBs around the same size I have been realy disapointed!I was over at the factory recently and they [Ribcraft] have put them back in thier catalogue by special order because of demand of previous owners!

A girlfriend of my son has a 5.3 Tornado, it's an excellent little boat. Ribcraft also make some very good boats and have an excellent marketing dept.

Another to consider is the Ribtec 5.3. With a 90 2st they make a great package.
