It looks a good job and its really pleasing to work with a company that takes pride in their work. Look forward to seeing it on the 11th May

Looking very nice..............
I live reasonably close to Tilley Inflatables (20 Minute drive) and they have an excellent reputation locally ............. Oh yes, if you follow a sat nav to them from the A38, then its a tight squeeze in some places, being local we just use the easiest route, which is a tad further but much wider and probably quicker.
Last year, after an incident with a fillet knife , I needed an urgent repair.
I called them on a friday afternoon and got no reply, so left a message. Within an hour both Sam & Mike had called me back and arrangements were made ........ I took the boat in on the Monday lunchtime and collected it early on the Tuesday morning ............ first class repair and wonderful service.

Thanks Paul for the thread - it looks like a number of fellow RIBbers have enjoyed reading just like I have. It's been a great pleasure working on your Humber transforming her from old tired yellow tubes to smart black ones.
Fingers crossed I can make it for the trip in just over a weeks time, I will certainly let you know!

Would have to agree with everyone’s comments above , if you need a re tube or repair speak to Sam or Mike at Tilleys , you will not be disappointed the quality and service are second to none . I’ve been lucky (or unlucky , whichever way you want to look at it !) to have two ribs retubed this year and you can’t help but smile when you walk in the workshop and see what they can do .

Excellent result, congrats with a "new" boat.
I wonder, what price range are we talking about for this job? I have a similar Humber RIB in need of a real refurbish. Living in a high-cost country, I´m considering bringing The RIB to its land of birth for its refurbish..

Costs will really depend what you want - every wear patch, handle, lifeline, cleat adds cost. As well as the condition of the hull it’s being stuck back on to. Best to message people and see - but retubes are expensive - £4K minimum for basic tubes on a 6m boat. I’m sure fancier finishes, lots of accessories, and some other bits and pieces you could be nearer double that!

Hi OceanCarl,
If you would like a price to retube your Humber, please drop me an email (samantha@tidel.biz) with the size of your RIB (and a few pictures if possible) and I will reply back with some prices for you.
Thanks,
Samantha

Agreed - best to email Sam with an annotated drawing of what you want to get a better idea of price. As Poly said, most companies I rang for a 6.3 with oversized tubes were between 4.5-5.5k with some basic rubbing strip, patches and lifelines, but once you say exactly what you want in terms of each part, valves, thickness of Hypalon, cleats etc you can add another 1-2k or more if you got carried away!

Great job and we’re up! On the look out for a company to retube. I’ll look them up but a long road trip from NI!

Well we went from Chester to them, if you’re spending that much ££££ then it’s worth going with people who care. Plus when you go to get it you could have a run on the south coast [emoji6]

Are you implying that nobody closer cares?

God you read way too much in to what people write to the point of annoyance. Your post is a complete irrelevance.
Do I need to state that people further away may care too? (Rhetorical FYI)

perhaps you are actually annoyed at yourself for your loose use of the English language which let people draw that conclusion? How you could be annoyed at someone asking a question of clarification in what is a public conversation is odd.

if you were one of the many tube suppliers that you effectively drove past to go to the furthest away supplier your view may differ!

Are there any tube manufacturers in the UK further away from you? It’s great that Tilley did you an excellent job, and with their reputation I would never have expected anything else - but you must have made the decision to make two huge round trips rather than ones you could have done in a morning for some reason.

Actually I’ve just reread your opening post (from several months ago) and it seems you did dismiss the local options on quality/customer satisfaction from a previous experience so perhaps you should just have answered “yes” to my question yesterday.
