Humber Tubes.

Hi there, newbie here. I have a Humber Destroyer. The tibes have been through the wars over the years. I'm looking to replace the tubes, but Humber will only do them in their standard colours. I was looking to change the colours and specify some changes re grab handles etc.

Could anyone recomend a company that could carry out the work for me.

Ta, in anticipation.

Uummm, looks like Sealion will be the place to go. Henshaws wont do want I want and Preston is a bit of a drag with the boat to get a quote. Southampton is probably the best bet as I'm in the south of the country.

Do you know if they will want the engine removed to do the work. Lifting a 275 off the stern is a bit of a chore. Its not urgent as I still have the sealine to use.

Humber Tube replacement

I am intrigued Rubber Jobby, by your quote "Henshaw won't do what I want"

Having a vested interest I would clearly like to hear what it is Henshaw won't do. I will send you a Private message.

tubes

You may want to look up a guy called Paul Tully he does tubes in Dartmouth .He used to do all the tubes for rib eye before they moved to South Africa..... trust me he's good. dont know his company name but Rib Eye will give it to you.

Re The Tubes

Sorry its been a while, away working, someone has to! Anyway, re Henshaws. I phrased it wrong. It wasn't that they couldn't do what I wanted, more that it was not possible.

They gave a good quote though. I'm still looking at other options, one of them being upgrading to a larger boat. The useage is more recreational than anything else so maybe getting away from the Humber range, although damn fine boats, can be a bit utilitarian. I've looked at a Revenger but that was more sports boat than rib IMHO. Doesn't seem enough tube diametre in the bow sections. Also looked at Zodiac, but again they seem rather too pricey for me new.

Still looking, altho my budget will be somewhat limited as the funds will come from the sale of the Sealine. I'll wait to see what comes up on the secondhand market.
