humminbird 365i on an open boat - transom?

Anyone have something like this - the display unit - on their open boat (no console)? thinking i would need to mount it to the transom. wondering if anyone has a picture of how theirs is setup.

thanks!

newbie rib owner.

Used to have a small GPS mounted near the transom. It was a PITA to look from where you were going down and back to the unit, then back up at where you were going. If there's no other option, it will work, but a unit more in-line with your normal line of sight would be well worth it.

A small mini-console-shaped box with non-see-thru windscreen (for protection) would do. Could also house the battery (assuming you have one.) If it were me, I'd leave a little space for a VHF as well.
