Hurricane 440 engine size limit?

My Hurricane 440 weighs 900lbs and says max 50hp on the data plate. My Zodiac mkII is about 200lbs and says max 55hp on the data plate. Surely the Hurricane can take more that 50hp?

I'm looking at a good used Johnson 60hp 1992 two stroke to replace my Honda 45hp. Right now the boat really could use some more power to get on plan with a load so the 60hp seems like a good option as it is local and used motors are hard to get here.

Would 60hp be ok? The Honda is about 200lbs and the Johnson is about 250lbs.

RIBase
I'd think it could take a 60 or 70hp, that's what I'd put on it. Don't blame me if it goes wrong though!

The 60hp is outside right now waiting for me to get off my ass and fit it, that and a few small parts that it needs. I talked to my Zodiac dealer and they said the 440 would be fine with up to a 70hp on it. I don't think that I'll be running at WOT much but the extra power will be nice when I need it.
