Hydraulic fluid leak from top of steering column?

Working on the boat on its trailer today, every time the boat (cobra 575 rib) moves slightly liquid pours from a screw at the top of the steering column which does appear to have a small hole on the side - a valve? . It's very hot today, so don't know if that's?a factor? Is it overfilled? Any ideas please?

Would add photos but can't work out how on my mobile, but hopefully can do when I get home.

Many thanks.

So is it normal for hydraulic fluid to pour out on the steering column if it's expands in the heat? Hydraulic fluid is, I understand, nasty stuff to get on your skin and is pouring all over the console! Is it a one-way valve on that screw? We bought the rib back in September and are just getting ready to launch her for first time. Did the previous owner over-fill it? Any advice welcomed.

It’s just oil, wipe it up. The filler is a breather, no valve just a pin hole. This is the first hot weather we’ve had since September, the previous owner probably topped it up. Once it’s found its level it’ll settle. Stop mytherin.

LOL. Thanks for your honest opinion, Pikey Dave! Have googled dangers of hydraulic fluid and it seems only dangerous if pressurised or continuous contact. I'll stop motherin.
