I despair
I am in Helford at the moment, no boat - two kayaks, on holiday.
I just watched a Ribeye - looked like a 6 metre, leave from the sailing club jetty to head off somewhere, with 15 people - older adults and some teenagers and 2 dogs on board, not one life jacket, and what really shocked me, a teenager standing on the boarding ladder on the transom and holding onto the A frame with the OB prop churning away just inches from his feet. I just dont get it! I am beginning to sound like Clarkson !!!

I think I saw that bunch last week. The place is crawling in 2nd homers at the mo. They appear to go for Ribeyes.
Are you gonna pop around to Fal for the Red Arrows on Weds? If so we'll be out with a grey/black 7m Vipermax 'Hey Joe'. Pop over say say hello.

I noticed that. Everywhere I went in Fowey there appeared to be a Ribeye, most with very little clue.
However, Prize prick of the year award goes to a RFYC member (in a yacht called Diamond something). In his hurry to motor about just outside the harbour with his sail covers on,despite clearly being the give way vessel on 4 occasions on the way out of the harbour managed not only to nearly T-bone us,but to force me into taking action to avoid collision on 3 other occasions.

But he is a yacht and therefore you have to give way in your nasty smelly petrol powered greenhouse heating iceberg murdering seal clubbing rubber boat or he will report you to Greenpeace
If you do need to communicate with a WAFI then there is one fairly universal means of communication - you could even do it properly and get it embroidered on a signal flag

Surprisingly no. I was waiting for it too. I even had a very nice, polite offer ready to shout loudly between vessels as we passed RFYC.
Something along the lines of 'Radio me when you return and I'll teach you the colregs and how to take the cover off the main'...

That all started back in the early 90's when Cornwall got through to the the County Championship final a couple of times at Twickenham. On the first occasion, some wag put a sign on the Tamar Bridge, "Last one out, turn off the light."
You'd think that after 21yrs of banging bins and 5gal cans, The FMB would be able to get a tune out of 'em.

Red Arrows
Think you might find the Red Arrows have been grounded due to Ejector seat faults, so they may not be in Falmouth

thats a bit scary... just checked the Red Arrows web site...
they were flying in Blackpool on Sunday.
It seems the ejector seat fault was detected on the 29th July and remedied by the 4th August. Should all be OK for Falmouth then

We'd heard about problems. I've checked the Red Arrows website and all appears to be ok now.
