Anyone know if 8.1 or 8.5m Scorpions any good.
Went on one years ago, and it was great in the rough, but at rest was quite wobbly as tubes set above water.

Scorpions are nice ribs and very capable. Having the tubes out of the water is better IMO as it means they don't get covered in weed when the boat is on a mooring, also I think the handling is much better as you don't have tubes dragging in the water. However the trade off is the rib will be slightly less stable at rest, not something that has ever been an issue for me however (the Vipermax has the same). And I often take the kids on board.

I guess tubes off the water gets less important as you get bigger boats. Sub 5m and its like a rocking dinghy when you get on!

Cobra's are pretty good, probably a good sample for sale. Dry ride, supportive seats, good storage.

You wouldn't go wrong choosing one of the BWM range, there very stable Ribs in a chop, with a large carrying capacity and scope for different configuration, they can build with your own design preference if necessary.
BWM Ribs - Sports Rib Range
Personally I'd choose the Crusader 10.
BWM Ribs - BWM Crusader 10 Sports RIB
But there all top class designs tbh, guess it just depends on your needs, what you will get is the very best of British made quality
BWM Ribs - BWM Sabre 8 Sports RIB
There's also some great second hand BWM deals around, many configured for commercial diving etc, mainly because of the massive available deck space and outstanding sea keeping qualities, but it wouldn't be hard to transform them for passanger requirements, Ullman style seating and bench seats would be easy to fit on there solid deck.
You won't find many 2nd hand for sale though as many owners are happy to keep them for life, when they experience the sense of safety and stability thats achieved with there design. by chance I have one for sale, but only because i'm looking to downsize, due to the narrow roads round my way.
All the best with whichever choice you make.

Thank you for the offer - do your boats come with a full width rear seat, or is it all motorbike style seating ?
Many thanks
James

My demo rib as you can see from the posted photos has 2 x 2 man jockey seats and a bench seat which is positioned on the engine box . It does not cover the whole internal beam of the rib.
As standard new ribs come with jockey seats and may have a rear bench seat
