insurance

Time for new insurance!

My previous company have provided quiet value! however at the 1st instance of a claim they told me in no uncertain terms my claim would be invalid as a boat yard had washed the boat!

SOOOOOO im lookin for some insurance companies people have had fair service in the eventuality of a claim.... no bull in other words or slippery snakes!

Thanks

How would a boatyard washing your boat invalidate the insurance? What were you claiming for???!!

the short story is the tubes were sprayed with a grinder! at one point it looked like they were not repairable and new tubes would be on the cards! as the boat yard washed the boat the insurance assesor before even seeing the boat pointed out when any 3rd party was invloved they could not pay out as they may have done more damage! He did say we will send you a claims form but i doubt it will be succesful!!!

luckily the tubes were recoverable

We find Nobel are very good with dealing with potential claims and are very quick in there response to repair quotations that are submitted.

Who are you with now?

I've been with Porthcawl for ages. They were very good when I made a claim a few years back.

Boatyard Liability

Surely the boatyard is liable and any claim will be from their insurance, if they have done "repairs" by washing the boat and this has aggravated there error then they will be further liable.

Ok the initial fault was not that of the boatyard, however, what would of happened had it simply rained???

yes agreed and the boat yard did deal with the claim and handle it all themselves.... they also recified the boat and were in a position to retube it had the need arised!

I merely informed my insurance incase the case against highways fell down and at the advice of my solicitor..... The insurance companies statement that washing the boat could have worsened any damage didnt really stand as any dirt dust or damage to your car or boat occurs you dont call insurance company asap.... you try and clean it yourself and assess the damage if any! maybe pop open the t cut! this is all the yard did!
