Insuring one off hull designs

Has anybody ever had to go tro the process of obtaining insurance on a home or project built rib, it would have in the first instance no offshore catagory letter, on hull number, no design tested specifications as to safe weight of payload, no of persons, max hp, it would have no brand name, model or serial number and no CE mark etc etc what are the implications of this as far as insuring a one off, does anyone know of someone who has done this before, are there various bodies that would have to inspect a finished boat or agencies that inspect such craft etc cheers gavin

I DUNNO! HOWEVER IF YOU BUILT A KIT CAR THEN IT WOULD BE INSPECTED BY THE VEHICLE INSPECTORATE BEFORE IT WAS ALLOWED ON THE ROAD.

I WOULD THINK THAT SURVEYORS COULD INSURANCE APPROVE A HULL. I'D TALK TO STEVE AT PORTHCAWL INSURANCE CONSULTANTS, HES A COOL GUY AND INTO HIS RIBS AND POWERBOATS SO IF HE CAN HELP HE WILL

HOPE THAT HELPS
