Is there any gasstation on the Shetland Islands?

Does anyone know if it is possible to fill gas - approx. 800l. at the Shetland Islands and where would it be lokated?
And what about the supplyboats going to the oilrigs, would they be to any help if we made an arangement with payment etc. in advance?

Don't know about on Shetland, but if you contact the oil companies in Aberdeen they should be able to advise. Most, if not all, oilfield supply vessels operate out of Aberdeen for the British sector of the North Sea. Not sure if they ever need to visit the islands, this may have changed since my time up there. Or contact the islands port at Lerwick.

I don't recall petrol being available on the quayside, but try www.lerwick-harbour.co.uk or Reeds Almanac.

I wouldn't be comforable with arranging to transfer fuel at sea from another vessel, there are too many things to go wrong all of which would leave you stranded in the North Sea! You really need to carry it yourself.

Chris Strickland had a Scorpion with twin outboards and I think had some huge fuel carrying capacity - why not ask him or Graham Jelley about it.

Yes, there's petrol on Shetland. Harbourside, no idea but I'd guess not.
