As to the price, to me seems fair but I do not have direct values to the UK market, perhaps call to IBS boats could verify the value, at least over here it would be seen as fair price.

Vanguard 570 has been our best seller and people like them.

Apologies for that last thread - not a very good impression to a new visitor!!!

You want to consider the seating more carefully. Many people don't like bench seats on smaller RIBs as they can be a bit insecure. Then again if you are just planning family outings then you should be ok.

Could get more seaworthy for the price.

Is this worth a look at ?

Your intended boat will certainly do IOW to Chichester but that can be a very nasty piece of water on even a half decent day. You should be looking for a Deep V Hull and jockeys. But I think you will struggle to get a modern boat with those attributes for 10 Grand.

However the engine size you have picked is more than adequate. Just needs a decent hull for the crazy sea in Hayling Bay. Especially off langstone and Chichester harbour entrance.

Personally, I am not a fan of Valiant RIBs. I have not been on one but there is something about the look of them that doesn't fill one with confidence.

I have spent a great deal of time using a Valiant V520/ Mariner 75 2 stroke.
In short I don't rate it. Very shallow vee meant an awful ride, not very accomplished in the rough either and not especially quick. The build quality wasn't brilliant and the console soon came adrift, I also didn't like the seating either as Codders pointed out. It did look quite smart though and when anchoring off the beach for a beer it wasn't to difficult to attract a few bikini clad honeys on board, they don't seem to appreciate a battle ship grey SR4 so much!
I imagine the patrol version rectifys all the points I have mentioned.

On second thoughts that Humber might not be too good. Its an Assault. Hulls too shallow for any serious work. Need an Ocean Pro. Good photo though caught me out.

I think the layout depends on what you want & what you'll use the rIB for.

I have a 4m Avon with 40HP merc with console + side seat & bench seat.
I chose that spec on account of having a young family 2 under 5. It's fine for pootling about, but not the best for speed / balance as most of the weight is aft.

I spend most of the time standing up to get best balance / visibility.

I don't think I'd go for the same layout again, but a jockry console would reduce the nice large well I have in front of the current console.
