Thanks again Louise... Sorry for the delay!!
The Humbers going very well!
Every spare moment seems to be taken up either working on it or using it!
Have fitted the A-frame and electronics now and on the whole am i'm very pleased.
A little problem has developed with the console in that it seems to be poorly designed. The two bolts securing the top of the console to the bottom bit are far to close to the edge of the fibreglass and have split out.
Alot of this is due to the sikaflex peeling away where the guys who fitted the engine had to remove the top bit to fit the steering pump and didn't prepeare it very well before sticking it back down. Seeing as the steering wheel is fitted to this bit, it's quite important it's solid. Easily repaired and strengthened but a little frustrating. Humber didn't seem too worried when I told them!
Apart from that, it seems very good. The hull is excellent and with five or six up is very well weighted and balanced. - You can plough through some pretty nasty stuff with very little problem in comfort.
We saw 55mph on the speedo last week 5up!
Gets a bit twitchy over 50mph with one or two up but also drinks fuel at that speed so it's good to slow down anyway!
The A-frame I designed and had build out of 2" 316 with a tow point on the top. Although I excercised alot of caution towing a wakeboard from it in the early days it certainly seems up to the job and has't been a problem yet! (He said not tempting fate!)
So there we go. One major item outstanding is the name. Thinking far too hard I think but must do it soon!
Any ideas??
Nick
