It could turn nasty and judging by the shape of most of the ribbers at last years SR gathering, we'd be in for a pasting.
A battle of wits might be safer, the Jetskiers would be going in unarmed.

all our access to launch off the beach between hythe (kent) and folkestone has been closed. when i asked local authorities they said it was due to jet skis breaching the water safety rules.

It occurs to me that as we are in the throws of election silly season there may be an additional window of opportunity. Why not copy your email sent to PHC to all the prospective parliamentary candidates for Poole (listed below)
Liberal Democrat Phillip Eades
BNP David Holmes
Independent Ian Northover
Labour Jason Sanderson
Conservative Robert Syms
UKIP Nick Wellstead
Knowing all election candidates they are dying to find a bandwagon to jump on to give them an edge. If it raises the profile of the problem you may get a bit more reaction from PHC (who prefer to avoid the limelight at all costs - IMHO)
Just a thought

i have 2 jetskis and have had them for years, its thru idiots like this that causes me issuses with finding places to use them. boats have been in my family for years so we have a good understanding of whats right and whats not. i wish other users of jetskis would understand the shit they cause as it effects everyone. personally i would have gone over and banged their heads together for doing what they did. the trouble i find tho is if it was a boat doing the same no one would spend the time to say about it on here but every time its a jetski people want to tell the world

I think if you search the forums you'll find hardboats, wafis, and even some ribs being criticised at various times.

I think Peter Booth retired a couple of years ago.
Brian Murphy is now the harbour master and has a reputation for 'getting things done'!
Give him a ring and encourage him to add to the harbours extensive network of CCTV cameras to the Baiter slip!

The 'new regime' certainly does get things done! I've had a reply which I'm very impressed with.Worth keeping the phone number below handy if you're launching there.

PWs have been a problem in the Harbour since their arrival and every effort is made to moderate the over enthusiasm that mars the behaviour of even the most law-abiding PW rider.
We are hampered at present by the lack of our own PW, with the ability to pursue these craft on their own terms, although we hope to have a replacement shortly, but a telephone call to Harbour Control, 01202 440230, or a complaint to our PW permit salesperson and a request for help should bring a patrol craft onto the scene on weekday afternoons and all day at weekends.
The (usually) young man on duty at the hut is tasked with issuing PW permits and educating the applicants as to what is allowed and what is not. He always directs them towards the PW area off Brownsea or to the open sea, and warns them about their behaviour and the presence of patrol craft. His function is not to discipline offenders, but to educate and call for a patrol boat if there is need.
There are always new riders each season as this form of amusement is rather expensive and has a time limit for interest.
The main reason for making a nuisance of themselves around the slipway is to burn up remaining fuel before recovering the PW, hence they stay close. A word from a patrol craft usually calms them down a little, and I can only suppose that our man in the hut was not aware of the degree of nuisance being caused.
We will put a little more time in around Baiter with our patrols until the new riders are more aware

Looks like you have a decent response for once and they are aware of the problems ,,our local port authourity banned jet skis from using even our clubs private slip many years ago when we also had public day launching ,after a few were taking the piss when others were trying to launch/recover even to the extent of riding up onto the lifeboat slipway and [chillin out ]for a while as they say,,
The port auth said that as the main Tees shipping channel runs less than a hundred yards out they could not carry a decent enough anchor and line should one of them breakdown and start drifting into it ,
with regards to burning off excess fuel at the end of the day does this mean for 2 hours pratting about LOL.

Yes, well, uhm........ this lot (men with guns and boats) are often found whizzing about the harbour, but alas I've never seen them take out a PWC (personal water closet)!

Sometimes they even get the family to camp out on deckchairs and have a picnic...... in the middle of the slipway.
Myself and Andy B had a issue last season when my wife (5ft nothing) held the boat while I fetched the van. Skier blasted the boat away from her but luckily the skiers mate saved it and bollocked his buddy for being a twat, not the first time though. Thing is, its the actions of the few that tarnish the many...

Never been there and I don't even know where it is but I would have thought another slipway for the jet skis sounds a good idea to me .
A little further away from the small boat launching area.
I think the main problem is they are PWC's and if 3 or 4 persons want to have a go two or three have to stay on the shore and tend to congregate around where the PWC was launched
awaiting their turn.
Unlike a rib were we all pile into it and leave the area.

Moral of the story; legislate to make people buy a proper boat

Answers simple if they don't follow the rules and cause a nuisance to other users seize their craft and crush it, a bit Alf Garnett but I'm sure it would work.
Why is it always a tiny minority who ruin things for every one else?
