Jockey vs center console

hello,

I am in the process of deciding my new rib set up. I am between a Zodiac pro sports 420 (40hp Etec) with a jockey seat or a Zodiac pro classic 500 (60hp Etec) with center console and leaning post.

The main use will be for fishing and diving offshore. I will be beach launching the boat.

All input and opinions are useful!

Thanks!!!

RIBase
personally i have had them all over the years including shock mitigation seats which are brilliant big engines & small always down to what i could afford at the time.but being a diver my self i think the pro classic 500 standing a lot more comfortable in the rough, bit more room to kit up, 50% more power will be a nice little set up it will carry 3-4 fully kited divers and still perform well.not knocking the pro 420 with the 40hp i had a 4.5 osprey with a 40 on years ago but it was on the limit with all the kit and divers

good luck on your choice

Gsaade, this is a very personal choice, and one that you will need to make yourself.

Personally, for me center console !!

I would go for the 500, ive been in both the 420 and the 500 and the 500 handles way better in any chop. the 420 feels like a very small boat when your out in the water.
