Jock's away!

Anyone heading out, say late March for blast? I can launch from Stonehaven, Cruden Bay, Rosehearty, etc. Happy to cruise or fish. Leaving it for a few more weeks as it's snowing!

Was off Cruden Bay 3 weeks ago with a family of Danes. A little cold at first by OK (they can't understand why we stop dinghy sailing for the winter). Popped into the cafe for a warm up.

Seal population on the Boddam skerry seems to be up right now.

Launched at Peterhead. The mat is OK to use for this time of year - normally gets buried during the winter. Sand is fluffed up as usual. Did a bad job of lining up the wheels with the mat and nearly got bogged down but churned my way through.

Was going to go to Rosehearty and look at the big drilling rig that had its legs down off Macduff but it had gone. Saw it being towed legs up on the horizon off Peterhead and headed out but it was further off than it looked.

Sounds good. Only reason I don't tend to go out until early in the season is the day is short, and I have to haul for over an hour to get to the coast, plus the usual wash down scenario afterwards.

Yep. It was prison - check, skerrie - check, bullars - check, slains - check, .....coffee..... skares - check....straight line at 30 knots back to Buchanhaven, quick play in the waves off the North Head then out.
