Kids Waterproof Trousers.

Can anyone recommend any kids water proof trousers? they just have to keep them warm and dry and not last forever as they grow so quickly

Got a 2 year old. He was in one of these guys: Togz UK Ltd suits that was 9-12 months that fitted him from 9 months till late summer (nearly 2). First one was an all in one suit and it was hard wearing.

He's now in a 2-3 year old sallopette style with a jacket.

Seem very well made. His current ones even have reflective tape on them (looks like a mini 'sailor'...). Delivery good. I believ they are Made in Britian (for now till Scotland gets independance)

Not cheap... but you gets what you pays for.

For what age? And in what conditions to the children go out?

We've always used lightweight peter storm / regatta type trousers with some warmer trousers underneath with no problems (March-Oct season). I'ts only to keep splashes / spray off - no point in buying really expensive bespoke stuff when they grow so fast. I'd say it's more important to have decent fleeces / coat / hat on to keep the core warm.

I think they need full floatation suits and harnesses to survive that near vertical wave jumping!

Have a look at last season kid's ( hate that word, it's for goats ) sorry, children's ski wear. It's surprisingly compliant with boating needs. Salopettes with fleecy linings and side zips that are waterproof and most have double bum layer, the legs are double layered designed to go inside and then over boots keeping feeties dry. The jackets usually have crotch straps and all waist and sleeve linings are rubberised and anti creep. Genuinely good value.......collars are high too. Colours are bright and the products are properly built and hard wearing. Try Snow and Rock, not C&A.

My kids are nearly 6 and just 7, we try to get unisex stuff that can be passed down as they grow out of stuff before they wear out of it.
