How about a "Clip it on" campaign?

Maybe with the i in clip as the black clippy bit with the red kill cord trailing down

Like it John. As an alternative use the P as the clip!

Wasn't there a seat belt campaign once, who's tag was "Clunk, Click with Every Trip"

Once a logo has been created I would be very happy to put it on our home page in each language section and the slogan could be translated into that particular language.

I am sure other rib manufacturers would be also interested

Do Safe Sex campaigns work - picking up on ShinyShoe's point earlier awareness is great - but is there a risk that this is all preaching to the choir?

Would people be better / have more effect to stop those without cords on and say, "you've forgotten to clip your kill cord on"? Genuinely forgot = happy to be alerted. No idea its needed might just start using it. Just don't care probably get a mouthful of abuse.

I doubt it - modern children are remarkably tolerant to gross stuff! More likely to upset their parents.

Getting their. Now it may be more "noticable" if it were worn by girls in tight tops than middle aged men with beer bellies...

Particularly if worn under a jacket and 'flashed' at people....

Just been playing with the T-shirt creator at Streetshirts.co.uk.

I used the one I did earlier because it was already on my desktop. The creator is quite handy-vectorise your image and you can substitute colours etc.

The back needs shrinking a bit, but I'd wear that.

Front very subtle, back a wee bitty in your face!! Although we want the impact maybe a bit of a downsize might be better. I would wear it.

I'm not sure that it needs to be as aggressive as that. Boating is pretty safe and people rarely get hit by a prop, but we do want to give boaters a nudge to remind them to "clip it on". I think we should keep things in perspective.

That design also emphasises the prop not the kill cord which I'm not sure is particularly helpful either.

Is this going to be a RIBNET sponsored thing?
If yes how? And how will the logo on the shirt be argued with reference to "that" magazine and their profile?
If not why not?
Could we make a sticker as well?

It's a Mollers production and is completely separate from RIBnet. I've said I'll do what I can to help, but if it's going to make any real impact it needs to be bigger than RIBnet anyway.

I've registered killcord.org with the idea of setting it up as a neutral and non-commercial site which I hope will make it easier for other publications and organisations to join in. I can host it, but if someone wants to take on putting a web site together that would be brilliant.

I see social media as being the real key, but people wearing the shirts will give a tangible element and should generate some good photo opportunities.

I'm happy to take the chosen designs to the girls at Polecat and hopefully get production underway. I'm also hoping that Polecat will handle sales and distrbution.

I see this as a campaign to purely raise awareness. Aimed not only at boat users, but Joe Public also. Should Joe public then become a passenger, they too should insist that the helm be KC'd up.

It could/should become the marine equivilent of drink driving. The big No No.
