It is always perfect in largs, good setup there and very well sheltered.
Also, launching a recovering hundreds of times makes it a touch easier.

Largs might be a good set up but I begrudge the £ 26 launch fee when there is a free slip 200m away and another free slip a mile away

It looks like it.
I was going to take the P155 about him going in fwd gear before reversing off, but looking again the small fwd movement releases the mechanism as you can see it drop down.
I must investigate further as I'm going to have to launch and recover my RIB by myself more often.
Does anyone have any info on that specific one?

Same argument for a swing mooring over a berth perhaps, to each their own. The 12 month pass is about £180 I think which seems reasonable considering it is marine prices in question.

Got me thinking to, as mostly launch / recover single handed as well. I like the idea.
Just trying to figure out if I could remote control the tow car to pull away with me still in the RIB. Helps if you have competent crew, which I know LT does.
Also wonder how long my winch post would last.

Yep.
It's a home made one.
Definitively not up to road towing but does the job on the slip. The hard bits were "contracted out" to Breezblock).

I've had this link for a while:
https://www.boatlatch.com/boat_launch.htm
But despite emailing them 3 times asking if i can get one in the UK I never get an answer.
I might just make one.

I take your point but the "200mtr away" one is very tidal and I'm guessing a bit difficult to get the crew on and off, decent chance of parking though and the one a mile away (I take it is the one on the front in Largs) parking has been an issue in the past when I've used that even going back 30yrs.
That said, Largs marina was ok for parking on Sunday, but the last time I used it back in early March getting parked was a real problem with the car park taken up with boats on hard standing, the top end has now been taken over with motor homes and there seems to be a pattern of dumping trailer boats at the top of the slip making manoeuvring very difficult if the compound gate is closed. However this does seemed to be resolved at present.
I think it's worth the annual slippage fee when things work ok so here's hoping things stay as they are just now.

I've done some sketches tonight of how I'm going to make one, but it's going to have to wait until I've fitted the new engine.
Oh, and Lady Nashers new kitchen!

I emailed Largs Marina last week to enquire about the slip use and they told me that it is open (for £13 each way). I just need the “local travel only” guideline to be relaxed before I will feel comfortable going there.

Have you noticed he didn't launch and receive by himself, unless his car drives by itself.
I was wondering how he got into the boat but realised that he was already in it when the boat was reversed into the water.
The trouble with his winch is, it is too close, to where the boat stop is, meaning he has to wade into the water to operate it.

Yep, not completely by himself, but I can climb in over the bow once the boat and trailer are in the water, and climb out the same way once hooked up.
And I can tie the boat up alongside the slip whilst I move the car and trailer about.
Nasher.

Don’t think there was ever a claim that he was singlehanded, the motto was keep it simple. Great spot though [emoji849]
Why do you need to wade into water to operate the winch ? Surely u stop and do that on the slip, once the RIB’s nearly in / just out, so winch isn’t over water. It’s what I’d do anyway.

I’m also able to do that as well, even though I’m probably an accident waiting to happen (which has to some but not me, yet) especially when singlehanded. Like to think I’m still fit enough (just) to be doable.
