no! sorry your facts are wrong..

all done by two well know companys as stated in this thread.

We did think about doing tubes in house but its an expensive part of the craft and best left to people who do it day in day out and offer full warranty.

If Mr Leeway checks the scarab he'll find it was a total insurance loss as it came off its trailer in the US in a RTA Pash only bought it to get the running gear off it.
BTW its a 30 Panther Scarab which was black with the flames on it as in the thread over at the dark side (BM) (project Double two Shirts)
Buyer Beware.
The hulls ok for growing flowers in though lol.

if the above information is correct (which i hope is not) a main dealer trying to sell a substandard product is disgracefull and trading standards should be involved as some important information is quite obviously not being disclosed, well not in the ad anyway

The ad does say in need of work, which is maybe an underestimated phrase considering its history.

I believe its brilliant at going around left corners lol.

To cut Lee some slack its not totally gash value must be around £700 considering the work the hull and top deck is going to require to make it as good as std again.

Lee you better get yourself onto the Boat Mad Forum and get them corrected. There are 2 threads that feature a photo of this boat at your premises.

To drag a thread up from the depths....

... are these Leeway Ribs still super controversial ? Would someone be blacklisted from Ribnet events if they had one (or would you not expect them to last that long!)??

Stumbled across an advert & looked like an interesting price, and lightweight could potentially be a good thing if it means cheaper running costs. I'm a wuss anyway so wouldn't be out in anything to test the more classic manufacturers.

Shaz

There have been some allegations about the design origins of Lees RIBs, which I'm really not qualified to comment on so I don't have an opinion.

As far as the built boats themselves are concerned I have seen a few.

The ones I have seen in person have looked nice, a little lightly built, and maybe not the best finished of boats, but Lee built them to a price and you'd probably not be choosing one to cross the Atlantic anyway.
They do appear to represent good value for money.

The consoles and seat pods I've seen have been similar.

However I have seen some images that appear to show at least one RIB that wasn't quite straight, maybe it was taken out the mould too soon, I don't know.

I believe that a second-hand Leeway should be approached in the same way as any other, with an open mind and a good inspection, and honestly believe they could be a good buy on a budget.

The design origins if I had more info would be an Issue for me should I be buying new, but second-hand would be less worrying.

Oh, any anyone that blacklisted you for owning one should grow up.

Nasher.
