There has always been a lot of support and appreciation on this forum for the Independent Lifeboats on the Solent and around the UK.
A new fundraising scheme has started to help raise additional funds for the Gosport & Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS).
The Lifeboat Lotto was launched yesterday, with Meridian television presenter Sangeeta Bhabra on hand to make the draw at their Stokes Bay HQ.

It costs around £35k a year to run the service, all of the crew, shore support, fundraisers and management are unpaid volunteers.
