Liferafts

Im possibly looking at purchasing a 6 man cannister liferaft, its not for commercial use, we generally do coastal passages with the idea of occasional cross channel crossing.

Prices online tend to be around the £650 range, anyone know anywhere cheaper?

Why not look into the costs of renting one for the cross-channel jaunts if that's your primary concern?

Hi

I know you are not looking for a commercial raft, but might be worth while giving these people a call to see what they might be able to offer you.

I have just hired a 12 Man Solas B Liferaft for £350 + vat per year from these people. ey are very friendly and easy to deal with.

Dave Adams - 0151 2072860

The Liferaft also arrived next day along with all the other coding gear I ordered and at a very very good price.

Pete,

That's probably as good as it gets. At that price, there won't be a huge margin in it!

You sometimes get secondhand ones on YBW forums, but you've proably got service costs to throw in straightaway.

You may find that Nauti's deal is not much less for a 6-man because part of the cost factored in will be servicing. Costs for them won't be much different for a 6-man than a 12-man.

I'll help if I can with a new one.

Mike

Norwest are very good. I hired an 8 man two weeks ago (same price as Nautis) very good service. They said to me they could do any other safety gear I wanted at trade price, so might be worth giving them a call.

Do you really want to save a couple of quid on your this, your last means of survival?
I would have thought that throwing your money at it might be a way of ensuring your life.
Last thing I would want to do in a sinking/on fire rib in a Force 8, at night is to get into a leaky, cheapo, plastic...........
.............ah well.............do what you want.
