So after thinking about this earlier in the year I decided to put my boat in for a week at local marina. Really reasonable price and have been out four days out of five so far - I think the convenience of just parking the car and jumping on is fantastic... really pleased we did it.

I have a annual spot in a compound by the coast so got the best of both worlds I think. Just need to work a bit less!

As Steve says a good result. Next year one of our short list places hopefully for a week has a good marina where we'd intend to be on their pontoon all week to maximise use.

You might see in my latest trip report posts 186-on this thread for the first time we used a boat park right by the slip and it was well worth the cost for the convenience. Particularly as the weather was a little over-lively had we been daily inflating I think we might just have decided not to bother setting up one day whereas there was nothing to lose trundling from the storage and nosing out... we actually had a great trip.

Yep anything that makes it easier is well worthwhile.

Thanks for the replies - yes it's really appealing - knowing that you've just got to put on a life jacket, attach a fuel hose and attach a battery to the old fishfinder... 10mins tops and you're off. This appeals to the kids very much too!!

There's also something really cool about packing up and getting ready to leave while the boat is still on the water and being able to just walk away. Will def do it next season - will keep the price down for the storage and then keep her afloat for a couple of stints. I tried my best to pick a good weather window with friendly tides - hard to get both!
