Lleyn Peninsula advice

Spending some time on the Lleyn, not got the rib with us, but obviously scoping out the area for future trips.

Looking for some local knowledge.

I see most places are a beach launch including Morfa Nefyn where we are. Also Abersoch.

Does anywhere rent moorings so I can only put in once in a week trip? By the Ty Coch would be perfect.

So interested it what people do if in the area for a week holiday.

Pwllheli marina is an option. Not sure if your size of boat.
Unlikely to be spare moorings in summer, though you could ask Abersoch yacht club.
In Morfa it’s V sheltered, consider an anchor set up?

4m rib so not big. Not sure I would be happy leaving on anchor, might not sleep [emoji23]

We leave our boats on an anchor at Abersoch for anything up to a week, we have up to 6m boats, obviously checking the weather forecast & tide tables

About a month ago I booked a static caravan for my bsac dive club and we used the 6 mtr rib from porth ysgaden , where we beach launched with a jeep or hilux, this venue allowed us to explore the north side of the Llyen . We then put the boat in pwheli marina.

We dived off the tudwel islands and Carrag try. It's a lovely area with plenty to do, one day we even went to bardsey and saw dolphins
