I have found healthy debate but with balance even if opinions differ on some of my other steep forum learning curves . I just felt on this occasion that 'the grocer' was giving no advice on how to carry out a legal pastime responsibly but would happily steel my lobster pots which I have just ordered with my hard earns money if I get it wrong .

Well everyone is entitled to their opinion as always, just use common sense .... if you were to dump a string across a harbour mouth or known landing area .. sure .. your going to attract attention for all the wrong reasons. Where I fish, traffic is non existent, so all my methods are perfectly fine, and if I caught anyone 'recycling' my gear I wouldnt be very happy about it and I'm not talking big numbers either, I'm just pleased to continue an art that I have learned from those that have gone before me, and I am perfectly entitled to do it, its not commercial, just a bit of pleasure like any other fishing so enjoy

Wasn't daft enough to ask where to trap just tell him I am going to . Staying on jura for a week so he will know what I am doing within ten minutes of getting there anyway .
I live in a village twice the size of craighouse and everyone knows what I am having for tea !

Well the locals are no strangers to a bit of stealth .. some background knowledge is always good bit hard to learn an area in a week though ...
